Tow bar Types
Hitch Receiver towbars
The hitch receiver tow bar incorporates a removable square hitch that is fitted with a quick release pin. The tow bar suitable for the Pre-2013 Kia Rondo comes with a 40mm square hitch receiver socket. The square hitch tow bar can provide a mounting point for a wide range of bike carriers. Some of the Thule carriers are able to fit directly into the 40mm square socket and towball mount carriers can be use with the towing piece inserted. Please see our bike rack pages for details.
Standard (Tongue) towbars
For the 2013 onwards model Kia Rondo we use a standard towbar. The standard towbar uses a tongue to mount the tow ball and are also known as gooseneck towbars. The tongue can be removed by undoing 2 bolts. The standard bar is ideal for towing lighter loads like small box trailers, tinnies, jet skis and many other single axle trailers.
